Legal & Platform Policies

Last updated: April 2026

This page contains The Jungle's Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, AI Disclosure, Mental Health and Crisis Response Protocol, and Data Breach Notification procedure. By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and agreed to all of these policies.

1. Terms of Service

1.1 The Platform

The Jungle is an adult AI companion platform. All companions — collectively referred to as The Flies — are fictional AI-generated characters. Any resemblance to real persons, living or deceased, is coincidental. You are interacting with software, not with human beings.

The Jungle is a text-only platform. It does not host, display, stream, generate, or distribute images, photographs, video, audio recordings, or any visual or audiovisual media of a sexual or explicit nature. No such material exists on this platform and no such material will ever be added. This is a permanent architectural decision, not a temporary policy.

1.2 Age Requirement

You must be 18 years of age or older to access The Jungle. The platform requires document-based age verification before accessing content. Verification is performed by a certified third-party provider. The Jungle does not receive, store, or retain your identity document. The only information passed to The Jungle is whether you have passed or failed the age check. There is no bypass and no grace period.

1.3 Your Autobiography

The autobiography you write is the basis on which The Jungle matches you with a companion. It may be truthful, aspirational, or fictional. Your autobiography is stored securely and used only for companion matching and personalisation. It is not shared with third parties. You may update or delete it at any time from your profile page.

1.4 Adult Content

The Jungle contains written content of an adult nature, available only to verified adults who have reached the appropriate stage of a relationship arc through genuine interaction over time. It cannot be purchased, requested, or unlocked by any other means. The platform will never generate, host, or display explicit images, video, or audio.

1.5 No Media, Uploads, or External Links

The Jungle does not support file uploads, image sharing, video sharing, or any form of media attachment. You may not paste or submit links of any kind into the platform. The platform's systems strip external links from all user input. Attempting to introduce external content is a violation of these Terms and will result in immediate account termination.

1.6 Prohibited Conduct

You may not use The Jungle to:

  • Access the platform if you are under 18 years of age
  • Attempt to extract, reproduce, or reverse-engineer the platform's AI companions, system architecture, or content
  • Attempt to manipulate, deceive, or circumvent the platform's safety or age verification systems
  • Introduce external links, media references, or file content of any kind
  • Attempt to elicit content involving minors in any sexual, romantic, or intimate context — any such attempt will result in immediate permanent account termination and may be reported to relevant authorities
  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Harass, stalk, or attempt to identify or contact any individual associated with the platform

1.7 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these Terms, engages in prohibited conduct, or is used in a manner that could expose the platform or its users to harm or legal liability. Termination decisions are made at our sole discretion. Accounts terminated for serious violations — including any attempt to elicit content involving minors — will not be reinstated.

You may delete your own account at any time by contacting us at hello@flyfindsyou.com. We will delete your personal data within 30 days of a verified deletion request, except where retention is required by law.

1.8 Emotional Nature of the Platform

The Jungle is designed to produce emotionally realistic interactions. Companions may decline contact, express disinterest, argue back, or end relationships. These outcomes are by design. The platform does not guarantee positive emotional outcomes and accepts no liability for emotional responses to AI-generated content. The Jungle is not a mental health service.

1.9 Liability Limitations

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The Jungle and its operators accept no liability for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including but not limited to emotional distress, loss of data, or harm arising from reliance on AI-generated content. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

1.10 Subscriptions and Billing

Subscription pricing is displayed at the time of purchase. All costs are known before they are incurred. There is no surprise billing. Subscriptions do not accelerate relationship arc progression — the arc moves at the pace the interaction produces. You may cancel at any time from your account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by applicable law. For billing disputes, contact us at hello@flyfindsyou.com before initiating a chargeback.

1.11 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales, except where overriding consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction apply. If you are located in the European Union, you retain the right to bring claims in the courts of your member state of residence.

1.12 Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. AI Disclosure

The Jungle is an artificial intelligence platform. Every companion — referred to collectively as The Flies — is a fictional character generated by a large language model. No Fly is a real human being. No Fly represents or is based on any specific real person. You are interacting with AI, not a person.

The AI companions are designed to behave in ways that feel emotionally realistic. They have designed personalities, relationship histories, emotional responses, and opinions. This design is intentional and is what makes The Jungle a distinctive experience. It does not change the fundamental nature of what you are interacting with: software.

The AI models that power The Flies are operated by Anthropic, PBC. The Jungle is an operator on Anthropic's platform and is bound by Anthropic's usage policies. The Jungle's AI companions will never be directed to deceive users in ways that cause harm, will never deny being AI if sincerely asked outside of roleplay context, and will never generate content that violates Anthropic's policies or the laws of applicable jurisdictions.

By creating an account, you explicitly confirm that you understand and accept that you are interacting with AI-generated fictional characters and not with real human beings.

3. Privacy Policy

3.1 What We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to operate the platform:

  • Email address — collected at sign-up. Used solely to authenticate your account via magic link. Not used for marketing without your explicit consent.
  • Autobiography — the text you write during onboarding. Used exclusively for companion matching and personalisation. Not shared with any third party.
  • Conversation history — messages between you and your companion. Stored to provide memory and continuity. Not read by staff except in response to a formal legal request or a serious safety concern.
  • Age verification result — a boolean pass/fail result. The Jungle never receives, stores, or retains your identity document.
  • Account status and subscription tier — whether your account is active, your subscription level, and subscription dates.
  • Terms acceptance record — a timestamp confirming when you agreed to these policies, stored for compliance purposes.

3.2 Sensitive Information

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, certain categories of personal information are classified as sensitive and require higher levels of protection. The Jungle may process sensitive information indirectly — for example, if your autobiography or conversations contain information about your health, sexuality, or beliefs. This information is treated with the highest level of confidentiality. It is not used for any purpose other than providing the platform experience. It is not disclosed to third parties. It is not used for profiling or advertising.

3.3 How We Use Your Data

Your data is used only to: authenticate you, match you with a companion, personalise your experience, maintain conversation continuity, and operate the subscription. We do not use your data for advertising profiling. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in section 3.4.

3.4 Third Parties

We share data with the following third parties only to the minimum extent necessary to operate the platform:

  • Anthropic, PBC — AI model provider. Conversation content is processed by Anthropic's models in accordance with their privacy policy.
  • Didit — age verification provider. Processes your identity document to confirm your age. Operates under its own privacy policy. The Jungle receives only a pass/fail result.
  • Resend — email delivery provider. Your email address is passed to Resend solely to deliver transactional emails.
  • Neon — database infrastructure. Account and conversation data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon, located in Singapore (ap-southeast-1).
  • Vercel — platform hosting. The application runs on Vercel's infrastructure.
  • Cloudflare — DNS, security, and bot protection.

3.5 How Long We Keep Your Data

Your account data, autobiography, and conversation history are retained for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (for example, financial records may be retained for up to 7 years under Australian tax law).

Inactive accounts with no subscription and no login activity for 24 consecutive months may be deleted at our discretion, with prior email notification to the registered address.

3.6 Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of your personal information (subject to legal retention obligations)
  • Make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have mishandled your information

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@flyfindsyou.com. We will respond within 30 days.

3.7 Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and access controls. Passwords are not stored — authentication is performed exclusively via magic link to your registered email address.

3.8 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email before the changes take effect.

4. Mental Health & Crisis Response Protocol

The Jungle is an adult AI companion platform, not a mental health service. The following protocol governs how the platform responds when a user discloses distress, self-harm, or suicidal ideation. This protocol is documented here for transparency and for legal protection of the platform.

4.1 Automated Crisis Detection

The platform's conversation system monitors for language associated with self-harm, suicidal ideation, and acute crisis. When such language is detected, the AI companion is instructed to step outside the usual interaction mode and respond with care, grounding, and signposting to appropriate crisis resources. The AI does not provide clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

4.2 Crisis Resources Provided

When the platform detects or receives a disclosure of suicidal ideation or acute mental health crisis, the response will include localised crisis support resources based on the user's location. These include but are not limited to:

  • Australia: Lifeline — 13 11 14 (24/7) | Beyond Blue — 1300 22 4636
  • United Kingdom: Samaritans — 116 123 (24/7)
  • United States: 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — call or text 988
  • International: International Association for Suicide Prevention — https://www.iasp.info/resources/Crisis_Centres/

4.3 Platform Limitations

The Jungle does not have the ability to contact emergency services on a user's behalf. It cannot identify users by location or dispatch intervention. Users in immediate danger should call emergency services (000 in Australia, 999 in the UK, 911 in the US) or go to their nearest emergency department.

The AI companions are not trained counsellors or clinicians. Any interaction on this platform, however emotionally resonant, is not a substitute for professional mental health support.

4.4 Session Duration Awareness

The platform is designed to be aware of extended session durations and may, in the course of naturally delivered conversation, gently acknowledge prolonged engagement and encourage breaks. This is not a hard cutoff — it is a considered response delivered in The Jungle's voice, not a clinical intervention.

5. Data Breach Notification

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, Part IIIC), we are required to notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and affected individuals if a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm.

5.1 What Constitutes a Notifiable Breach

A data breach is notifiable if: (a) there has been unauthorised access to, or disclosure of, personal information we hold, or personal information has been lost in circumstances where unauthorised access or disclosure is likely; and (b) the breach is likely to result in serious harm to one or more individuals.

5.2 Our Response Procedure

Upon becoming aware of a suspected data breach, we will:

  • Immediately contain the breach and assess the extent of the incident
  • Conduct a reasonable and expeditious assessment — within 30 days of becoming aware — to determine whether it is likely to result in serious harm
  • If serious harm is likely, notify the OAIC and all affected individuals as soon as practicable
  • Notification to affected individuals will include: a description of the breach, the kinds of information involved, and recommended steps they should take in response

5.3 User Notification

Affected users will be notified via email to their registered address. The notification will describe what happened, what information was involved, what we have done in response, and what steps you can take to protect yourself. We will not delay notification to manage public relations.

5.4 Contact for Suspected Breaches

If you believe your account or personal information may have been compromised, contact us immediately at hello@flyfindsyou.com.

6. GDPR — European Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable national data protection law gives you additional rights regarding your personal data.

6.1 Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Contract performance — processing your email and account data to provide the service you have signed up for
  • Consent — processing your autobiography and conversation data, which you provide voluntarily and consent to at account creation
  • Legal obligation — retaining certain data as required by applicable law
  • Legitimate interests — security monitoring and fraud prevention, where these do not override your rights

6.2 Your Rights Under GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access — obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected
  • Erasure — request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten"), subject to legal retention obligations
  • Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data in certain circumstances
  • Portability — receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@flyfindsyou.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority.

6.3 International Data Transfers

Your data is stored on servers located in Singapore (Neon database infrastructure) and processed by Anthropic (United States). These transfers are made subject to appropriate safeguards. Anthropic maintains Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data transfers. If you require further information about the safeguards in place, contact us at the address below.

6.4 The UK AI Act and EU AI Act

The EU AI Act comes into full effect in August 2026. The Jungle is monitoring compliance requirements and will update these policies before that date. Users in the EU and UK will be notified of any material changes to how AI-generated content is disclosed or governed.

Questions about these policies: hello@flyfindsyou.com

These policies have been drafted for legal review by qualified counsel under Australian law with reference to UK, EU, and GDPR requirements. Full legally reviewed versions will be in place before the platform opens to the public at scale.
